A different art exhibition: Mythomania by ReheeDa
Went to Hollywood Road today for a little art watching and was especially attracted to the work in the Cais Gallery:
Mythomania by RheeDa
Unlike other exhibitions I see around, these ones are adorable, innocent and girlish. I was also definite that the artist was Asian since these doll pictures came from the toys that we play, and from magazines and comic books we read.
Mythomania - a psychological condition where a person believes the lies they have told to be true.
Rhee Da wants to express her view points on how the mass media constantly and repetitively reproduces our subconscious desires. (Does that mean she nailed mine?)
The artist had picked an interesting medium for her work using aluminum and Formica with simple lines to create images.
One thing I like about art appreciation is that everyone can be a critic. I love the works and if you happen to dine around the SOHO area, why not take a little walk here and enjoy the exhibition?

The exhibition will ends on March 13, 2009
Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 10.00am to 7.00pm; Saturday and Sunday from 12.00pm to 6.00pm.
Here are the snapshots I took from my visit.
Special thanks to Paul for giving me the permission to share these photos with my readers.
