Coffee for HongKongers

One of the things Canadians need to get use to in Hong Kong is the coffee.  Though I can’t really describe “Canadian Coffee”, many Canadians are dying for Tim Hortons and Second Cup (I am one of them…).

Opted for Starbucks since my return but it’s not the same - if you assume coffee in HK Starbucks would taste the same as North American ones, you’re wrong.  The coffee in Starbucks Hong Kong are comparatively more watery and I often need to order a ”triple” (with extra shot of espresso) to get by my morning - that’s HKD3 more for 365 days a year (HKD1095 a year)!!!

Given my loyalty towards Starbucks for the past 4 years in Hong Kong, it can’t really satisfy me.

Recently love going to Caffe Habitu, an Italian style boutique cafe that I love enjoying my weekend breakfast in.

Just stumbled upon a Hong Kong base forum and found this interesting survey.  445 HongKongers voted for their favorite coffee shops in Hong Kong.  Here are the result:Number 1 — McCafe

Number 2 — Pacific Coffee

Number 3 — Euro Go Go

Number 4 — Strawberry

Number 5 — UCC

Number 6 — Cafe Suzuki
